North Country Bowhunters Chapter of Safari Club holds numerous events during the year for members and non-members of the chapter. Below is a short recap and photos of some of the events from 2011.
North Country Bowhunters is proud to be the Minnesota NASP State Sponsor!
The National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) is a joint venture between state departments of Education and Wildlife. Several archery equipment manufacturers and organizations are also partners. The program promotes student education, physical education and participation in the life long sport of Archery. The program's focus is to provide International Style Target Archery training in physical education classes grades 4 - 12.
Becoming an Outdoor Woman; Introduction to Archery
The introduction to archery class for women was a huge success. We did a 4 part series starting off with an overview of archery seminar at our banquet in February.
In March we did some shooting and setting up bows at A1 Archery. In April we had a 3d shoot and equipment overview at Chilakoot Archery. In May we had a weekend Turkey
hunt at Cedar Creek Reserve in East Bethel. This program turned out better than we could have hoped and we are definately planning on having it again in 2012.
Launch Fishing Trip at Hunters Point Resort
The launch fishing trip this year was held in June at Nitti's Hunters Point Resort. We could have not
asked for a more gorgeous day and great fishing. We are already looking forward to next year.
